My never ending quest to improve my business and how I execute has me on the lookout for great ideas.
I recently went to San Diego for some advanced marketing training (See the Real Estate Radio Network, RERN, logo to the right) with Top Producers from around the country. All of them are killers in the Mortgage and Real Estate businesses. People who are making money today and solving client problems in this challenging market.
When you get people like this together sometimes they’re protective and don’t want to share for fear of letting their secret out.
Not this group, the dynamics of sharing were awesome, and some really great ideas got put on the table. People using video in their marketing. Writing books as a lead in to end consumers and of course the effective use of a The Real Estate Radio Network were all discussed and impressive.
However, the number one idea that was shared with me was also the simplest and the most effective: Touch every deal, every day. Loans in process, applications pending, leads, prequals. Touch them all. It may be only for a few seconds, but that commitment and discipline can be a huge difference maker.
When you do this, and I admittedly am trying to develop it as a new habit so it’s not perfect yet, something amazing happens. You get “hyper proactive” because when you touch them all, some move forward quickly, some die quickly (which is just a good) and you lose “I don’t know where we are, let me call you back” as a business strategy.
It’s proactive, creates urgency, accountability and actually adds extra time to your day. Trust me, try this.
